Urinary Tract Infection with Trichomonas Vaginalis in Men




Abstract
Trichomonas vaginalis in the urine which frequently causes purulent vaginal As charge in this country has been studied. 19,291 urinalysis, during the period rom Jan. 1972 to Dec. 1973 in K.H.U.H., have been performed chemically and microscopically.
The microscopic examination of urine have been accomplished in ordinally wet unstained 1/15 concentration smear, and acridine orange, hematoxylin stained smear.
The results of the study are as follows.
Total 239 infected cases of Trichomonas vaginalis out of 19,291 urinalysis are detected. The Trichomonas vaginalis was found from 47 (0.49%) in males and from 192 (1.98,055) in females.
Age distribution of infected. individual had variable from 3 months of age to 78 years old. No seasonal variation has been observed but increasing tendency is summer season (Apr. to Sept.). Chemical urinary findings of infected individual had 6.0-6.5 of urinary pH, 1, 005-4,020 . of urinary S.G. and the positive rate of urinary sugar and protein was rather higher in female than male.
The numbers of RBC, WBC & EP cells were increased. PHF in infected females which suggestive partial admixture of menstrual & vagical hemorrhage and increased WBC count has been demonstrated in infected males.
